I lately read "The Agony & the Ecstasy", which is a biography of Michelangelo.
At one point, the reigning Pope wanted to hire painters to paint clothes on all Michelangelo's figures in the Sistine Chapel. Fortunately for Michelangelo & all of posterity, the scheme was abated. I can't remember exactly how right now. Ah well, good night!
