For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.

Greater love has no one than this, that he confront his friends about their faults.
Not quite it.
Greater love has no one than this, that he be a great Christian leader and example of holiness.
Hmm, no I don't think so.
Greater love has no one than this, that he encourage his friends to "try harder".
No.

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. --John 15:13

I continue my apology, it is easy to write words; it is very difficult to put principles into use in real life. It is very difficult to put others ahead of yourself. Vernon McGee would always talk about a faith that walked in "shoe leather". What is the point of all of the teachings of Christ if they never enter in to the way we really live our lives? I want to love my enemies, and I find it very difficult to love even my brothers and sisters in Christ. Lord, I believe, help thou my unbelief.

  1. Trying to live with your spouse in light of Christ's words . . . very challenging. Somehow on the trip down to the altar, our spouse ceases to be a person & becomes SuperHuman.

The people we should reserve our best patience & most energy for often get the dregs.

    Thanks for the entry.
