You will surely recognise Penn Jillette, of Penn and Teller fame. He is a very well known atheist. He is also, as you will see in this clip, an honest man who understands people and the real meaning of Christianity very well. Why this bold man remains an atheist while a coward like me is called to be a follower of Christ is beyond my comprehension. I think he would be the next Paul the apostle if he became a believer. Pray for Christians who think like this man does! (except for the atheism part)

John Newton, Visionary
“Our righteousness is in Him, and our hope depends, not upon the exercise of grace in us, but upon the fullness of grace and love in Him, and upon His obedience unto death” --John Newton
“This is faith: a renouncing of everything we are apt to call our own and relying wholly upon the blood, righteousness and intercession of Jesus”--John Newton
“It's the only way to go now. It's the future of software. It's inevitable.”--John Newton
I guess there's more than one John Newton.

God moves in a mysterious way
his wonders to perform:
he plants his footsteps in the sea,
and rides upon the storm.
Deep in unfathomable mines,
with never-failing skill,
he treasures up his bright designs,
and works his sovereign will.
Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
the clouds ye so much dread
are big with mercy, and shall break
in blessings on your head.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
but trust him for his grace;
behind a frowning providence
he hides a smiling face.
His purposes will ripen fast,
unfolding every hour:
the bud may have a bitter taste,
but sweet will be the flower.
Blind unbelief is sure to err,
and scan his work in vain;
God is his own interpreter,
and he will make it plain.

For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
Greater love has no one than this, that he confront his friends about their faults.
Not quite it.
Greater love has no one than this, that he be a great Christian leader and example of holiness.
Hmm, no I don't think so.
Greater love has no one than this, that he encourage his friends to "try harder".
No.
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. --John 15:13
I continue my apology, it is easy to write words; it is very difficult to put principles into use in real life. It is very difficult to put others ahead of yourself. Vernon McGee would always talk about a faith that walked in "shoe leather". What is the point of all of the teachings of Christ if they never enter in to the way we really live our lives? I want to love my enemies, and I find it very difficult to love even my brothers and sisters in Christ. Lord, I believe, help thou my unbelief.
